This report summarizes the results of Bird Studies Canada’s one-year inventory of marsh-dependent bird and amphibian species within the Rondeau Provincial Park (RPP) wetland complex. Marsh Monitoring Program protocols were used in the detection of bird and anuran (frog and toad) species, augmented by other known amphibian survey techniques incorporating salamander detection. This report also presents and discusses general patterns of habitat association observed for bird and amphibian species richness and relative densities across various spatial gradients within the RPP wetland complex. Information, derived from previous research, is included about the relative health of RPP coastal wetland habitats as a function of bird and amphibian community metric response to landscape level stressor data.
