Problems exporting data into another format

When you try to export some of your files files into another format (e.g. Excell), Band Manager program give you an error:

Error #: 36, Line # 35 --> This line can be different
Error: Command contains unrecognized phrase/keyword.
Code: SELECT settabl

Program: BANDDATA.COMMAND15.CLICK
The program will now attempt to shutdown and you will need
to restart....

This error happens when user select an user-field to be exported and that field has an "space" or special character (e.g. /,+, etc.).
The way to correct that problem is to use the option "Utilities - Table Designer" and modify the structure of the file that is giving problems. User should check each user field on the "Caption" column and assure that it doesn't contain any space or special character. After fix that situation, user will be able to export the information.

The latest version of the program will avoid that situation for new files but won't correct old structures that may have the problem.

How do I re index if I cannot open the program?

PLEASE BEFORE YOU DO THIS DO A BACKUP AND MAKE A TEMPORARY COPY OF YOUR DIRECTORY !!!!

If you get a message about a corrupt index is worst that when the index doesn't exist, because it means that the file is damaged or does not correspond to the table. The best way is to fix this is ERASE all index files (AFTER DOING A BACKUP AND COPYING YOUR DIRECTORY ELSEWHERE!!!) in your system. Erase all files with extension CDX (.cdx) from the Band Manager directory and userfile directory (PLEASE ONLY .CDX FILES !!!). Then try to start the program.

As there aren't index you'll get the same message 5 or 6 times but it's because the program is trying to create the indexes again. Keep trying to open the program until you get to the main menu.

STOP! The problem isn't fixed yet! From the main menu go to the Rebuild index option (Utilities - Rebuild index - Program Files), this will create indexes. Re index the Data Files next (Utilities - Rebuild Index - Data Files).

3. Trace over to Shortcut
4. Left click on Shortcut
5. In the white space type the location where the Band Manager was installed (e.g.: c:\Bandmgr), then left click next
6. On the next screen, in the white space type Bandmgr, if it is not already there
7. Left click on Finish

How Do I move Band Manager from one computer to another

1. Do a backup of all data files AND the program files onto floppy or other movable disk. Make a list of data files is a good idea
2. Install Band Manager on the new computer from here and use the first option (NEW or First time Installation)
3. Start the program, and when you get prompted for automated setup (remember this is a brand new version so the program wants to help you set up all your files etc) select Manual Setup
4. Go to Utilities and Backup and do a RESTORE on all data files and the System files from the floppy or CD.
5. Check your information list to ensure you restore ALL data files
