Vancouver Urban Bird Program

Did you know that Vancouver, an important stopover and wintering location for birds migrating along the Pacific Flyway, is one of Canada's top birdwatching locations? The Vancouver area holds some of Canada's most notable Important Bird Areas, and regularly hosts over 275 bird species, including many waterfowl, shorebirds, wading birds, and raptors. This abundance of birdlife offers valuable connections between city dwellers and the natural spectacles so close to their homes, through beginner-friendly Citizen Science opportunities, education, and outreach.
