This report
documents field activities, results and examines feasibility of applying
various wetland biological monitoring techniques that were tested by
Bird Studies Canada at numerous Lake Erie (Long Point) coastal wetalnds
during a multi-partner, one-year pilot project done during 2002. While
several wetland taxa monitoring techniques were examined, the focus of
this report was to document and examine the use of Marsh Monitoring
Program survey protocol as a long-term biomonitoring technique to
include into a future monitoring program framework for determining the
biological integrity of Great Lakes coastal wetlands. Bird Sudies
Canada's Marsh Monitoring Program is committed to continuing to
monitoring Great Lakes coastal wetland health.
