Long Point Bird Observatory (LPBO) operates research, training, and education programs focused on ornithology, conservation, and other aspects of natural history at Long Point, Ontario.

LPBO is the oldest bird observatory in the Western Hemisphere and the founding program of Bird Studies Canada. It was established in 1960 by the Ontario Bird Banding Association.

LPBO runs an active and diverse mix of collaborative research, professional training, and public education programs. Examples of key LPBO initiatives include the Migration Monitoring Program, the Tree Swallow Research Project, the Doug Tarry Young Ornithologists' Workshop, and the Latin American Training Program .
