Noah was fitted with a transmitter on March 10, 1999.
Noah was recorded at Long Point on March 12 and March 15. On March 17th
Noah was 85km north of Long Point in an agricultural area, 50 km north
of Aylmer. Noah was recorded again on March 17th
approximately 50km south where she remained within approximately 30km
from March 17 to March 23. On March 28, Noah was recorded 99km northwest
near Bayfield, Ontario and again 115km northwest near Unionville,
Michigan. On March 30, Noah was recorded in 3 locations: the first was
at 4:30am 272km west of Unionville, the second was 30km further west at
8:02am, the third was at 10:42am – 77km west of Unionville. Noah was
recorded again at Unionville on April 1. On April 5-10 Noah was 753km
west at Fargo, North Dakota. Noah than traveled 287km to Altona,
Manitoba where she remained from April 11 until the 23rd. The
bird was later located 215km north on April –23 at the Narrows on Lake
Manitoba. The Narrows is located southwest of Ashern, at the narrowest
part of Lake Manitoba. The site consists of a great variety of habitat
with Lake Manitoba surrounded by many wooded areas, some meadow
expanses, small lakes and marshes. Noah was than located a distance of
322km northwest at Cedar Lake, Manitoba from April 25 thru May 12. On
May 17, Swan 3687 was 454km north east at Southern Indian Lake. No
transmitter locations were recorded after May 19.
