This report provides an
update on Marsh Monitoring Program survey route coverage and marsh
bird and amphibian population indices and trends from 1995 - 2003.
Trend summaries are provided for individual Great Lake water bodies,
and for the Great Lakes basin as a whole. This report demonstrates the
value of MMP data, and how citizen scientists throughout the Great
Lakes region are playing an important role to address many previously
unanswered questions pertaining to marsh bird and amphibian
conservation. This report also conveys our appreciation to the
agencies and foundations that dedicate their long-term support for the
Marsh Monitoring Program, and to the hundreds of Great Lakes citizens
who have volunteered with the program over the past nine years. Their
contributions are both highly valued and extremely important.
