Marsh Monitoring Program volunteers provide habitat descriptions for the bird and amphibian stations that they survey. In August 2003, MMP staff held a workshop to determine how precisely volunteers estimate actual habitat cover. This report summarizes results from that workshop, and suggests ways to improve both staff-based and self-based volunteer training.
