Description: Located in Beaverhill Lake Natural Area, an internationally recognized
birding area known for its shorebirds and waterfowl; bunkhouse on site, but volunteers may
need to stay in tents. The site samples good numbers of Least Flycatchers, Yellow
Warblers, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Tennessee Warblers, and Clay-colored Sparrows.

studies. Description: Located in northern Alberta, at about 55°N in Lesser Slave
Lake Provincial Park on the east shore of the lake; facilities on-site but very limited;
excellent migratory area for numerous species (e.g. Alder Flycatcher, Least Flycatcher,
Swainson's Thrush, Tennessee Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, American

(AB): Dates: fall only. Description: Located in a federal bird sanctuary along
the Bow River in Calgary; no on-site facilities; good site for migrants including

Observatory (SK): Dates: spring and fall. Description: Located at 51°N in
Last Mountain Regional Park on the east shore of Last Mountain Lake, within the oldest
bird sanctuary in North America; onsite facilities; excellent migratory area especially
for boreal species like Alder Flycatcher, Palm Warbler, Blackpoll Warbler and Wilson's

10 Delta Marsh Bird
Observatory (MB): Dates: 25 Apr - 6 Jun; 8 Jul - 30 Sep. Description: Located
on Lake Manitoba; one of the most productive banding stations on the continent;
accommodations available in a quaint, old lodge. Large numbers of migrants pass
through the area. Species commonly banded include Yellow Warbler, Yellow-rumped
Warbler, Tennessee Warbler, Least Flycatcher, Song Sparrow, American Redstart and
