George Clulow
Growing up in England, George developed a fascination with birds which continues today. He has had a long involvement with the naturalist and birding community in the Lower Mainland since the mid-1970's. He was on the Vancouver Natural History Society board and chairperson of the VNHS from 1993 to 1997. For this work he was given the Society’s Ney Award in 1998 for extraordinary service to the society.  In his home city of Burnaby, B.C., where George lives with his family, he encourages public involvement in conservation by leading field trips and writing articles for local newspapers about birdlife. He has become a successful advocate for the preservation of nature in Burnaby’s parks and was awarded the City of Burnaby’s Environment Award for Community Stewardship in 1997.
