Dr. Ken Abraham
Ken is Waterfowl and Wetlands Research Scientist with the Wildlife Research and Development Section Section of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. His previous positions with the OMNR were as Research Scientist and Coordinator at the Center for Northern Forest Ecosystem Research in Thunder Bay, as Regional Wildlife Biologist in Cochrane, and as Regional Waterfowl Specialist in Moosenee. His current research, working collaboratively with the University of Toronto, the City College of New York, and the American Museum of Natural History, is on birds and habitats of the Hudson Bay and James Bay lowlands, with a particular emphasis on Lesser Snow Geese and Canada geese, and changes to James Bay coastal marshes in relation to geese and climate change. He represents Ontario on the Arctic Goose Joint Venture Management Board, the Mississippi (Waterfowl) Flyway Council Technical Section, and the Long Point Waterfowl and Wetlands Research Fund Scientific Advisory Committee. Ken is Chair of the Long Point Bird Observatory Committee and Past Chair of the National Science Advisory Council.
