Dr. William Montevecchi
Bill Montevecchi is a professor at Memorial University in Newfoundland and the chair of the biopsychology program. His research focus is on behavioural and conservation biology and his work has been the subject of television and radio documentaries. He has written two books on the birds of Newfoundland, and lectures to schools, church, civic and children's programs in addition to giving numerous media presentations. 
  He has served for many years on the executive of the Newfoundland Natural History Society as well as other various scientific advisory councils. These include Newfoundland and Labrador Wilderness and Ecological Reserves Advisory Committee, Innu Nation, Natural Research and Engineering Research Council, Federal Environmental Assessment Review Office, the Canadian Coast Guard Oil Spill Response Advisory Committee and the International Committee for the Exploration of the Sea. He also chairs the Canadian Endangered Species Recovery Team for the eastern North American population of harlequin ducks.
