Collaborative Research at LPBO

Long Point Bird Observatory provides a wide range of opportunities for researchers on aspects of natural history in the Long Point area. Every year, we welcome researchers from around the world investigating a variety of topics such as: migration and stopover ecology, behaviour, physiology, at-risk species, reptiles and amphibians, insects, and climate.

Facilities and services at LPBO's three research stations include:

  • Accommodation for researchers - Wet and dry laboratory space
  • High-speed internet (Old Cut only)
  • Extensive local array of Motus Wildlife Tracking System automated telemetry stations
  • Advanced training for students
  • Boat, canoe, vehicle, and ATV rental
  • Access to our long-term datasets, and integration with current research and monitoring projects.
